A hotel with a difference-An experience not to be missed!! One of the loveliest hotels we’ve ever stayed in! Service was top class. The ambiance of the lobby was remarkable and eye-catching. Our arrival and departure was pleasant; was promptly attended by the concierge and the front desk. We would like to recognise Shehani (Resevation team) for making a real extra mile to offer our check in and check out requests -Thanks kindly! During our stay we patronised two restaurants Lemongrass and tamarind,which was truly an amazing experience. My husband is a vegetarian and he had the extensive selection of dishes available to him. The restaurant teams were outstanding, led by the gracious and charismatic Hillary Smith. The food was perfect - Hats off to the kitchen staffs and the service team for serving the mouth watering porridges ,delicate desserts, spicy curries, warm & crisp naan breads and almost melt-in-your-mouth - and these are just some highlights! Staff were professional, courteous,outgoing and friendly. Housekeeping and laundry services were on point. Spacious rooms, everything you expect in a five star hotel is available. We were treated like VIPs, got all sorts of complement treats, and enjoyed the best views in the Kandy city 10 out of 10 experience! “The grand Kandyan team”-we will return!

We had an excellent experience at the Grand Kandyan. We stayed for two nights and everything from the atmosphere, staff, customer service, to food was exceptional. The facility is very well maintained and our rooms were spotless - thank you! We had both breakfast and dinner (with an amazing dessert stand) and the food is absolutely amazing with many different options to choose from. They also try to customise their menu to suit guests of different nationalities -- hats off to the chef at the Tamarind Restaurant for amazing work! The staff at the restaurant were so polite and ensured that all needs were met - there are so many to name, but I'd like to mention Manthika, Mohan, Madushani and Upul for great customer service. I'd also like to mention wait staff member Earanga who served us very well. I even saw him dealing with a very difficult customer in a very professional way - well done! I'd like to mention Shehani and Jerome at reception desk for their exceptional customer service as well. Shehani went an extra mile to ensure our stay was smooth - she is very caring, professional and has excellent communication skills - thank you! We'll definitely visit again.

Considering all below-mentioned points it was the overall best hotel experience we’ve had so far in our lives (with 100+ hotel stays, so we have some comparison): - The amenities in public areas, restaurant, pool, gym, room etc are well-maintained, neat and very clean. - WiFi was working very well in the lobby and our room (which was on the 3rd floor). Speed was constantly around 20 Mbps. - The breakfast buffet as well as the dishes served by all three restaurants are of very high quality and simply delicious. - The views from our room and especially the roof terrace were just jaw-dropping, especially at night. - And now to the real highlight: Their staff! They always go the extra mile to fulfill all your wishes and on top of that are super friendly. Our special thanks go to Shehani, who invited us to afternoon tea and even prepared us a super nice farewell gift🙏. We really appreciate the effort she and her colleagues are making! Indeed several European luxury hotels would be able to learn a thing or two from them. We were really sad to leave!!!

Feels like you are entering a place however the interior perhaps a little too Garish for some. looking past this the gold curtains and bling furniture.. I feel the rooms are large and clean, perhaps the cleaning solution shouldn’t smell so strong but apart from this we actually found our room comfortable. perhaps a revamp is needed in some areas The food at the pool bar was very poor and I actually spoke to the manager about this point - microwaved pizza and from frozen heated spring rolls. On the other hand Breakfast was okay and the eggs were great, fruit and bread should be fresher. The staff were very attentive. Pool area needs life, felt neglected and should have pillows on seats ready for guests.

The atmosphere of the hotel is reminiscent of an old British hotel. The staff is very nice. A small thing very much appreciated: ironing a shirt could be done at costs that were competitive with those back home. Excellent location: you can walk to the main attractions. The supervisor at the restaurant is a very good employee of this hotel and does a fantastic job at making sure that all the employees are doing everything perfect! Great job sir! The value for money is great.
